The CPA 3000 pre-amplifier and SPM 1050 power amplifier are the latest products from England’s Chord Electronics. These fully balanced brand new designs are loaded with trickle-down technology derived from the development of the Chord Reference Series. The CPA 3000 is the newest of Chord’s new generation pre-amplifiers. Utilizing innovative techniques and technology from the highly successful CPA 5000 reference pre-amplifier, the CPA 3000 features Chord’s latest Ultra High Frequency power supplies, a completely re-designed short signal path and ultra low noise circuit to give the very best noise floor performance.

The CPA 3000 is feature rich with four pair of XLR inputs, two pair of RCA inputs, tape loop, and fully balanced AV Bypass circuitry that allows for direct connection to an AV processor. The result is a completely flexible system capable of the purest two channel applications and converting for use in a multichannel AV system with a simple press of a button. Remote triggering outputs are also included.

The SPM 1050 is the newest stereo power amplifier. Using Chord’s latest low distortion amplifier circuitry and proprietary lateral structure dual-die MOSFETs, the SPM 1050 is able to drive more difficult loudspeaker loads with clarity and precision.

The heart of the amplifier is powered using Chord’s own 2KW high frequency switch mode power supply and unique dynamic coupling design. This allows instantaneous power to be taken from both power rails simultaneously when the music demands, resulting in perfect balance and dynamic precision. This technology is complemented by a large bank of energy storage capacitors that are recharged by the power supply many thousands of times per second, giving the amplifier huge reserves and the ability to react effortlessly to any signal.

The SPM 1050 comfortably delivers 200 watts into 8 ohms and connectivity is achieved via true balanced XLR style or RCA phono inputs and two pairs of gold plated loudspeaker binding posts. As with all Chord products each unit is machined from solid aluminum for a superb rigid construction that gives unsurpassed vibration damping with stunning looks to match.
