England's Neat Acoustics is a small but highly accomplished firm dedicated to producing the most musical small loudspeakers in the world.

In a world where most audio equipment is designed by computers, NEAT makes the only commercially produced loudspeakers where the design is dictated solely by listening to music.

The parameters used by many audio designers to predict and evaluate a loudspeaker's performance form only a part of the overall picture. Music is comprised of much more than mere sound and, by restricting evaluation of a loudspeaker to its sonic and technical attributes, the vital part - the music - is usually overlooked. Therefore, the logical way to design a loudspeaker is to approach it from the music - and work backwards!

Neat has its own unique take on the art of loudspeaker design. It involves the process of listening to music, and allowing the music to govern the tuning and voicing of the loudspeaker.

The development of a NEAT loudspeaker invariably involves hundreds of hours of listening tests. Here the designers can be found making small incremental changes to all elements of the design until it is 'just right'.
