Festival Son & Image Show
Report - Montreal, 2003.
Bluebird Music once again had tongues
wagging with great music made by Chord Electronics and Living Voice
loudspeakers. On demonstration this year was Chord' stunning new Choral Series
which was designed to complement Chord's DAC64. The Choral Series offers ultra
high-end audio performance in a sleek, gorgeous, jewel-like chassis.

Spinning the tunes was Nottingham Analogue's renowned Spacedeck turntable
connected to Chord's new Symphonic MC phono stage. Digital source was the
Exposure 2010 cd player (as transport) feeding Chord's DAC64. Loudspeakers were the 94dB Living Voice Avatar, in
Santos Rosewood, and The Chord Company's outstanding new Signature interconnects and Odyssey 4 speaker
cable provided the connections. Equipment isolation supports are by Quadraspire.

The new Choral Mezzo amplifier features specially designed Ultra High
Frequency power supplies which operate at over 1.2Mhz, a design made possible
only within the last year! This gives this little amplifier large reserves of
instantly deliverable, precisely controlled power which makes it capable of
driving even very demanding loudspeakers.
The new matching Choral Prima pre-amplifier, with a fully balanced audio
circuit, delivers stunning control and the ultimate high-end audio performance
you expect from Chord Electronics. The new Choral Symphonic MC phono stage makes it easy to get the very best
out of any turntable. It offers an almost infinite number of externally
selectable input impedance and gain options, balanced and unbalanced inputs, and
a unique rumble filter that can detect between music and low level noise.
Remarkable!
Highlights of September 2001 London Hi-Fi Show
Below is the Chord Electronics room at the Novotel, London Hammersmith. This
set up featured the new DAC64 and the new SPM6000 Reference Mono Power
Amplifiers, which deliver 750 watts into 8 ohms, and 1500 watts into 4 ohms.

Above the new DAC64 is the small box in the foreground. (Notice the Chord
Company's Chorus XLRs?). The twelve-legged creature is the SPM6000. Behind the
DAC64 is the DSC1600E DAC, on top of the CPA4000 flagship pre-amplifier.
