New from The Chord Company
Crimson Interconnect
The Chord Crimson replaces The
Chord Company's very highly regarded Chrysalis interconnect. The Crimson
features oxygen free, multi-stranded copper conductors, identical in
strand diameter to the Chrysalis, but utilizes a pseudo-balanced circuit
path.
Thus
the Crimson is better able to accurately carry dynamic information, to
transmit greater levels of detail and to carry more information over a
greater bandwidth. The extended frequency range of the Crimson makes it
a great choice for use with CD, DVD and SACD players. Modern versions of
these machines output a surprising amount of information and the Crimson
will transmit this remarkably accurately. The Crimson was designed to be
versatile and will work really well in any entry-level hi-fi or home
cinema system. Its ability to accurately carry high frequency signals
makes it an ideal cable for connecting multi channel audio players.
Crimson will maintain performance over long runs and the design of the
cable means that it can be configured to perform extremely well as a
subwoofer cable.
Chorus 2 Interconnect
The Chorus 2 now benefits for
the shielding system first developed for the Chord Signature and Indigo
interconnects. The shielding system is used to protect the Teflon
insulated, solid core silver-plated signal conductor. The signal return
path is carried externally ensuring that the central signal conductor is
completely isolated. The combination of the silver plated conductor and
Teflon insulation enables the Chorus 2 to accurately carry a wide
bandwidth signal.

The very low noise floor
produced by the tri-layer combined shielding system, ensures that the
micro dynamic and the complex harmonic and tonal information that make
up the timbre of instruments is neither lost nor masked by noise or
interference. The outstanding shielding capabilities of the tri-layer
shield will be obvious regardless of the system the Chorus is connected
to. Individual notes snap into focus, snare drum beats are properly
dynamic and resonant, and stringed instruments gain real tone and
timbre. The Chorus 2's ability to carry dynamic information means that
music is presented extremely coherently and even complex rhythms are
simple to follow. Stereo image will be both wide and extremely stable.
Anthem 2 Interconnect
The original Chord Anthem was
one of the first available interconnects to use a high frequency shield
and ultra low mass RCA/phono plugs.
The
silver-plated combined shielding system fitted to the Anthem 2 protects
a Teflon insulated multi strand silver-plated signal conductor. This
configuration extends the bandwidth that the Anthem 2 will carry, and
while the benefits of this are clearly audible throughout the frequency
range, anyone fitting the Anthem 2 to a system with speakers capable of
serious bass extension will be able to feel as well as hear the
benefits!
The ultra low mass RCA/phono
plugs reduce potentially signal degrading resonances and the structure
of the Teflon insulation and outer jacket deals effectively with
problems caused by mechanically induced noise.
The Anthem 2 will allow
seriously low levels of musical detail to be heard, the leading and
trailing edges of piano notes are a perfect example. The combination of
an extremely low noise floor and accurate transmission of micro dynamic
information means that the musician's technique is clearly revealed.
This adds immeasurably to the feeling and enjoyment of any type of
music.
The Anthem 2 is stocked with a black braid instead of the white braid as
shown above. |
