SME, Chord and Vienna Rock Out at Montreal AudioFest
Fri, 23 Mar 2018
In case you were wondering, the Vienna Acoustics Liszt loudspeakers, the SME Model 10 turntable, the fabulous Chord Electronics CPM 3350 integrated amplifier, and Deep Purple's Machine Head record make an incredible combination.
This system rocked out like you wouldn't believe. While it was outstanding on acoustic and the usual hi-fi show music, man, on Deep Purple's "Lazy" it was absolutely out of this world. We just kept cranking up the volume and it just became more and more real. The Chord Symphonic phono stage, (pictured under the turntable), Kubala-Sosna cables all-around, and of course Chord's Blu/DAVE completed the set-up.
The Chord integrated is a giant-killer which performs way above it's price-point and drives the Liszt loudspeakers to their full potential - which is truly amazing. This was easily the best system the writer ever heard for rock and roll and if you ever get the chance to hear the big Chord integrated with the Vienna Liszt you should jump at the chance. Same system same time next year in Montreal, come hear it, you won't be disappointed.
The best system I have ever set up, or ever heard, for rock and roll. (Side two, track two).Jay Rein, Bluebird Music
