Buffalo, NY, April 14, 2023 — Bluebird Music, distributor of high-performance audio products since 2000, is pleased to announce the availability of the new Canton Townus loudspeakers and Smart Townus wireless active loudspeakers.
The new Townus series is Canton’s most affordable range of loudspeakers. Townus loudspeakers feature elegant enclosures and fine surfaces with harmonious proportions, rounded cabinet edges and elegant screwless integration of the drivers into the slim baffle. Flawless surfaces in silk matt or high-gloss lacquers as well as fine real wood veneers underline the premium claim of the new Townus speaker series.
Townus cabinets are solidly built and reinforced with substantial internal bracing. They feature strategically placed damping material inside the cabinets, selected high-quality crossover components and high-quality internal cabling. The downward firing bass reflex port contributes to the speakers’ accurate, tight, deep bass and makes the speakers less demanding of in-room placement. The rounded cabinet edges also improve the sound dispersion.
Townus mid and bass drive units are made from Canton’s proprietary titanium diaphragms and feature Canton’s low distortion double cone design, patented Dispersion Control and Wave Bending technology. These technologies combine to produce drive units that do not deflect at low frequencies and remain well-controlled by even modest amplifiers. Townus loudspeakers produce excellent dynamics and remain composed and preserve the music’s dynamic contrasts even at high sound levels and thus deliver a musical performance rarely found in loudspeakers at their price points.
Canton‘s tried-and-tested 25 mm dome tweeter made of aluminum oxide ceramic shines with its detailed, accurate sweet natural sound. A precisely calculated tweeter waveguide provides for ideal sound radiation and optimizes the speaker’s reproduction up to 40,000 Hertz.
The product range consists of: Townus 90 floorstander priced at $3,495 US, Townus 30 stand mount speaker at $1,495, Townus 50 center channel at $895, Townus 10 on wall at $1,095 and the Townus 12 subwoofer at $1,995. Standard finishes are high-gloss black lacquer or a silk-matt white. A natural walnut real wood veneer finish is also available for a small upcharge.
Smart Townus Wireless Active Loudspeakers
The fully active Smart Townus speakers are equipped with powerful amplifiers that provide 350 watts of power to each speaker. This eliminates the need for external power amplifiers and speaker cables. Wireless signal transmission with 24-bit signal processing between the speakers ensures music playback of the highest quality.
Smart Townus are extremely easy to set up and even connect automatically. Smart Townus speakers offer one analog, three digital: coax, optical and USB, one XLR and Bluetooth inputs. Simply set them up in the desired location, plug each speaker into the wall power outlet and connect your sources to the Master speaker. With their built-in active amplifier design Smart Townus speakers deliver a musical performance significantly in excess of what is achievable with separate speakers and amplifiers at the same price point.
The Smart Townus 8 floorstander retails for $4,495 US and the bookshelf Smart Townus 2 is $1,995. Finishes are the same as for Townus. Townus and Smart Townus speakers are now in stock at Bluebird Music.
